Dave, Josh and Paula with their trophies at the 2009 Black Rock Speedway awards banquet
To All Our Race Fans & Sponsors...
J & J Motorsports wants to thank its friends, family, fans, sponsors and Black Rock Speedway for another successful season. 2009 was great for us. We competed in 3 different divisions with 3 different drivers all using the same car...
► Paula ran the ladies 4-cyl division, finishing first!
► Josh ran the bandit division, finishing second!
► Dave ran the men's 4-cyl division, finishing third!
Special thanks to Tom Strong, owner-operator of Strong Sounds, for accommodating our music needs with his great DJ service on extremely short notice at the 2009 Black Rock Speedway awards banquet.
At this point, our focus for 2010 is uncertain. We will rebuild the #24 as we always do while considering our options, and we'll keep our web site updated as we make progress on the car. Look back in on us from time to time and see how things are going.
The 2010 BLACK ROCK SPEEDWAY Arnot Mall Car Show is scheduled for March 27-28. Be sure to mark the date on your calendar, then come check out our #24 and all the other sharp-looking cars.
In closing, thanks once again to all who support us in such a great sport. Without your involvement, racing for us would slowly become just a memory.
Dec. 11, 2009 ‒ HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY, JOSH! We'll soon see you behind the wheel everywhere, not just on the racetrack!
Aug. 28, 2009 ‒ Well race fans, word this week is RAIN! This means one more week left for the 2009 points race. This year has been a good one, and the J&J Motorsports #24 has been working hard.
This year saw the introduction of the ladies 4-cyl. class. With encouragement from Jon and Josh, Paula decided to race and has clinched the 2009 Ladies 4-cyl. championship! Josh has had a good run this season and will finish at 2nd place in points. As a rookie in the 4-cyl. division, Dave is set to pick up Rookie of the Year and has a good chance at a 3rd place finish in points.
Congratulations to Paula and Josh for a 1st and 2nd place points finish for the 2009 season. Well done!

Well, race fans, this update will
include some sad as well as good news.
On 8/17 we got word that Holly Kaie Yaw had lost her life. Holly was
the daughter of Phil and Amy Yaw and sister of Nicholas
─ very
close friends who we consider a part of our family. We may not
have had much time with Holly, but the time we did have will be
remembered forever. When a loved one is lost it is not the end, but
a beginning; a beginning to carry on in life with great memories. As
Holly journeys on she carries memories of this life that was filled
with love from all that surrounded her. She will be watching over
us, and for that we are grateful.
On to racing: We had yet another great night of action. Josh
ran a good race and held the lead up to the last lap, finishing
second to maintain his 2nd place points standings. After
finding the car not running well for the heat, Dave started in the
17th position with 25 laps to make his way to victory lane. Although
he didn't find himself there, he did finish 2nd
─
good enough to maintain his 3rd place position in points.
All three of our drivers as well as Phil were looking for a victory
tonight in honor of Holly. Even though Josh, Dave and Phil hadn't
done it, there was still one more chance. Earlier in the night Paula
had told Nick, Holly's brother, that she was going to do her best to
get a win for Holly. So at the drop of the green there was only one
imperative for Paula ─
WIN!. She took the lead early, never
looked back, crossed the finish line first and made it happen!
The victory is dedicated to Holly Kaie Yaw (you will be
forever in our hearts).
Aug. 2, 2009 ‒ Welcome fans and family. It's been some time since our last site update, but the latest greatest news is that with some decent runs, hard work and luck J & J Motorsports could very well end up with a 1-2-3 points-finish this year!
With an 80-point lead, Paula is
currently dominating the championship chase in the ladies 4-cyl.
division. At 59 points behind the leader, Josh is running 2nd
in points overall and has consistently been finishing in the top 3.
Dave had a good run last Friday and found himself right on the tail
of Terry P. when the checkered dropped, finishing 2nd.
Point-wise he's currently just 1 point down from 3rd place.
We have much work to do on the car but should have no problem
getting it ready for this week's events. SEE YOU THERE!!!!!
Apr. 17, 2009 ‒ Josh finished 3rd; Dave finished 9th.
Apr. 24, 2009 ‒ As we finish week 2 of the 2009 season, the J & J Motorsports team came home with good results. We found some chassis changes made on race day to be helpful. Josh ran a good race and finished 2nd. Dave is getting a handle on the #24 and picked up the pace to bring home a 2nd place finish as well -- his best thus far. And the final of three features for the #24 was piloted by Paula, who took J & J Motorsports to victory lane for the first win of 2009! As always, we want to thank our sponsors for their support and remind you to visit us again for future updates.
